What Is Diode Laser?

Diode hair removal is a method of laser hair removal that uses a diode laser to target and destroy hair follicles. This technique is known for its effectiveness in providing long-term hair reduction and is particularly popular for its ability to treat a wide range of skin types and hair colors. With this technology, laser light is absorbed by the pigment within the hair and converted into heat energy that damages the hair follicle preventing regrowth.

Benefits of Diode Hair Removal

  • Effective for All Skin Types: Whether you have light or dark skin, our diode laser adapts to your needs.

  • Fast and Efficient: Cover large areas quickly—perfect for busy lifestyles.

  • Long-Term Results: Enjoy lasting smoothness with fewer sessions.

  • Comfortable and Safe: Minimal discomfort with our advanced cooling technology.

Is Diode Laser Hair Removal Painful?

Our Diode Laser device comes equipped with cooling systems that cool the skin before, during, and after the laser pulse, significantly reducing pain and protecting the skin. However, areas with thinner skin, like the upper lip or bikini line, might be more sensitive compared to areas with thicker skin, like the legs or back.

Pre-Treatment Preparation

By adhering to these pre-treatment restrictions, you can maximize the effectiveness of your diode laser hair removal session and reduce the risk of adverse reactions. Always follow the specific guidelines provided by your treatment provider, as they may tailor recommendations based on your individual needs and skin type.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Avoid direct sunlight and tanning (both natural and artificial) for at least 2-4 weeks before the procedure. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher if you must be outdoors.

Steer Clear of Photosensitizing Medications

Avoid medications and supplements that can increase photosensitivity (e.g., certain antibiotics, retinoids) at least a week before treatment. Consult with your healthcare provider if you are unsure about your medications.

Refrain Hair Removal Methods

Do not pluck, wax, or use epilators for at least 4-6 weeks before treatment, as these methods remove the hair follicle necessary for the laser to target.

Avoid Certain Skincare Products and Treatments

Stop using retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and other exfoliating products at least one week before treatment.Avoid Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion treatments for at least two weeks before laser hair removal.

Health Considerations

Inform your technician of your full medical history, including any skin conditions, medications, or recent treatments. A patch test may be recommended, especially for those with sensitive skin or prone to reactions.

Lifestyle Adjustments

Avoid strenuous exercise, hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms on the day of the treatment to prevent skin irritation. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.

Post-Treatment Care

By following these post-care guidelines, you can help ensure a smooth recovery and maximize the effectiveness of your diode laser hair removal treatment. Always follow any specific instructions provided by your treatment provider.

Avoid Heat & Harsh Products

Refrain from hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for at least 24-48 hours after treatment. Do not use harsh exfoliants, retinoids, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid on the treated area for at least one week.

Skin Reactions

Mild redness and swelling are normal and should subside within a few hours to a couple of days. If symptoms persist, consult your technician or dermatologist. Refrain from scratching or picking at the treated area to prevent scarring and infection.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks after treatment. When outdoors, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to the treated area. Wear protective clothing to cover the treated area when exposed to sunlight.

Observe The Treated Area

Expect hair shedding in the treated area a few days to weeks after the session. This is a normal part of the process. Monitor hair regrowth and schedule follow-up treatments as recommended by your technician.

Hair Removal Methods

Do not pluck, wax, or use depilatory creams on the treated area between sessions, as these methods can disrupt the hair growth cycle targeted by the laser.

Follow-up Appointments

Maintain the recommended treatment schedule, usually 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve the best results. If you experience any unusual side effects or have concerns, please contact us immediately.
